EarlyBloom is an information directory for Australian parents looking for child development support. We try to collect as little data as we can get away with, and we are transparent about what we do collect.
What we collect
- Quiz sessions. When you use our quiz, your answers are stored against an anonymous, cookie-scoped session identifier. We do not link this to a name or email.
- Email correspondence. If you email us through our contact page, we receive whatever you send us (your email address and the message body).
- Error logs. When something breaks, our error monitoring (Sentry) captures the technical details so we can fix it.
- Server logs. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) are kept for a short period for security and debugging.
What we do not collect
- We do not offer personal user accounts at this stage.
- We do not collect your email address unless you choose to contact us.
- We do not sell data to third parties. Ever.
Third parties
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run EarlyBloom:
- Sentry (sentry.io) — error monitoring.
- Vercel (vercel.com) — hosting and edge delivery.
- Supabase (supabase.com) — our database and authentication backend.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep your quiz answers together while you use the quiz. We use authentication cookies only for administrator sign-in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), you have the right to access personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it, and to complain if you think we have mishandled it. Email vlam450@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise the matter with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Children
EarlyBloom is written for parents and carers. It is not designed for use by under-18s, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
