The Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is a coordinated mental health service for infants, children, young people and their families. The service provides comprehensive mental health support for ages 0-25 depending on location. The multidisciplinary team includes occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, psychologists, speech pathologists, and psychiatrists. Services include assessment, individual and family-focused therapy, early intervention, and support for neurodiversity and complex mental health. Common concerns addressed include feeding difficulties, sleep problems, behavioral challenges, anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, and suicidal thoughts. Referrals can be made by families, healthcare providers, or community services.
