
NSW Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) provides specialist treatment and community-based mental health support for children, adolescents and families.
CAMHS provides a range of services in the local community to children, adolescents and their families with mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties. Services include assessment, education and treatment for anxiety disorders, attachment disorders, autism spectrum disorders, eating disorders, depression, mood disorders, perinatal mental health concerns, psychosis, trauma and self-harm. Teams include child psychiatrists, clinical and counselling psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, dieticians, psychotherapists, family therapists and specialist nurses. The majority of services are community-based close to people's homes, with some hospital inpatient settings available. Referrals are made through the NSW Mental Health Line (1800 011 511) available 24/7.
